Description
World's most compact high-powered GMRS/FRS radio with extended range. Be prepared for storms and emergencies with built-in NOAA radio receiver. VibrAlert notifies you of a call in noisy or all-quiet environments. Voice-activated transmission frees hands for other tasks. A total of 3124 channel combinations are available when the 22 channels are combined with the 142 privacy codes. The radios include rechargeable high capacity lithium ion batteries and a two-port desktop charger. The desktop charger wall adapter can also charge one radio through its speaker/microphone/charge jack.

I bought this to use when me and my wife go shopping. We can enjoy our moment and my wife don't have to waste her time while I enjoy my moment at Rolex and I don't have to waste my time at Chanel. This radio is very effective in range of 5KM (in downtown) beyond this distance it's working but sound isn't clear in some moment. I have never tried using in open land so I have no idea about the effective distance at countryside. Overall I'm very happy with CXR825 but it would be a lot better if there's a battery percentage show on screen, CXR825 only show the battery sign when the Walkie-Talkie has Low Battery :( BTW Cobra the world has turned tiny, next version please use the adapter that can support 100-240V electricity.

I purchased this item while on a cruise to Panama. It was a new product factory sealed. Out of the box on the radios worked while the other failed to charge. Although both radios seem to be charging both in cradle and just with ac adapter only one radio actually charges. So, after switching batteries it appears that one of the batteries is dead right out of the package. Since, I live out of country (usa) it will be used as a paperweight.

I've used my set of "Micro-Talk" radios for close to ten years. They proved to be the most reliable and dependable hand-held radios I've used. Easy to understand and simple to use, this set has helped when I was moving to a new home, running airshows, and parking cars for large events. I recommend this set for anyone who wants a quality system. It was worth the up-front cost in trade for nearly 10 years of excellent service.
